I never wanted to come to an HBCU. Public schools in Detroit had taught me enough of black people. And I wanted “diversity.”
But Howard exposed me to so much. I have a new appreciation for myself, my community, and humanity. I love my HU.

I had this conversation yesterday. Just because Howard is a HBCU doesn’t mean we are the same. We all have different interests, beliefs, etc and no matter your interests I’m POSITIVE you can find others on campus who you will compliment you.
